Women's lack of knowledge about their rights and about the support and services available to them, and their lack of decision-making power, is a consequence of illiteracy. Illiteracy prevents women from knowing their rights and from accessing support and/or services to make decisions for their families. The Trust's campaigns promote women's education, support education, and raise awareness across underserved communities in western UP. When you donate to women's education, you remove the greatest single barrier to a woman's self-reliance. Donate to women's education, and you give a girl a foundation that shapes her entire life.
Women here have the ability but no opportunity. Skill training for women under the Trust connects them to vocational training for women in practical trades that produce real, independent income. Women's employment support is only possible when women have a skill to offer. This is how you help poor women build a livelihood on their own terms. Vocational training for women is also how you help poor women give their daughters a different future.
Isolation deepens poverty. The Trust promotes women's self-help programs that bring women together to save, lend, and support each other. These self-reliance programs build self-confidence and give women the collective strength to make decisions for their households. Girl child empowerment follows naturally when young girls grow up watching their mothers exercise purpose and agency.
Widows and single mothers lose income and standing at the same time. The Trust works to support widows with livelihood opportunities and active community inclusion. Without healthcare, a woman cannot work, earn, or care for her family. The Trust's Ayurvedic healthcare outreach directly addresses women's health support as part of its social work. Women's safety initiatives under the Trust create community-level awareness and protection that guards women against exploitation and abuse.
